Check out the talent for this remarkable season that brought Terpsicorps back from COVID, on an outdoor stage!

Madeline Bay (First Season) currently a dancer with Ballet Idaho, began her training at Illinois Ballet Theater in Moline, Illinois. In 2006 she joined the pre-professional company River Pointe Ballet. She was a scholarship student with the Bolshoi Ballet, Ballet West, Pittsburgh Ballet, Orlando Ballet, Northwest Dance Project, and Texas Ballet Theater. She then attended the University of Utah and joined the resident company, Utah Ballet.

Some of her performance highlights with Ballet Idaho include Fairy Godmother in Edwaard Liang’s Cinderella, Helena in Peter Anastos’ A Midsummer Night’s Dream, and Snow Queen in The Nutcracker as well as featured roles in Danielle Rowe’s Dreamland, Ricardo Amarante’s Love Fear Loss, Alejandro Cerrudo’s Lickety Split, Lauren Edson’s Missed Migration and Robyn Mineko Willaims’ Grey Horses.

Madeline has spent six summers dancing with ARC Dance in Seattle, under the direction of Marie Chong, where she has originated principal roles for works by Alex Ketley, Wen Wei Wang and David Fernandez. Madeline has also danced with LED in Boise, directed by Lauren Edson and Treefort Music Fest.

Michael Caye (Second Season) was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and trained with the Lincoln Park Performing Arts Charter School and attended the Point Park Summer Program from the ages of 10-15. At 16, he was a finalist at YAGP in New York and received a scholarship to Miami City Ballet’s Pre-Professional Program. During his last year at MCB, he had the opportunity to choreograph on the students in the Pre-Professional Program as well as to perform “West Side Story Suite” with the company. Now a company member with Nevada Ballet Theatre, Michael has performed principle and soloist roles in ballets by George Balanchine, Nicole Fonte, Marius Petipa, Ben Stevenson, Yuri Possokov, Septime Webre, and James Canfield. Michael is a summer faculty member with Point Park University’s International Summer Dance program. He is also an instructor with Studio 19 Elite Dance by Damians and Evolve Dance Complex.

Saho Kumagai (First Season) is from Sapporo, Japan, where she began dancing at age 9. In 2009, she moved to the United States to study at the Boston Ballet School and Pacific Northwest Ballet School Professional Division under the direction of Peter Boal. In 2014, she placed among the 20 finalists at the Prix de Lausanne International Ballet Competition in Switzerland. After dancing in Charlotte Ballet II, she joined Atlanta Ballet in 2015. She has had the pleasure of working with choreographers such as Dwight Rhoden for Sunrise Divine, Craig Davidson for Remembrance/Hereafter, and Tara Lee for blink. Some of her favorite repertoire include Liam Scarlet’s Vespertine, Cupid from Yuri Possokhov’s Don Quixote, and Alexander Ekman’s Tuplet.


Emma McGirr (Third Season) Originally from Ohio, Emma began her training at the Schrader Youth Ballet.  Graduating with a BFA in dance with a ballet emphasis from the University of Cincinnati’s College-Conservatory of Music., she has danced with the Louisville Ballet and the Eugene Ballet, and currently with Nevada Ballet Theatre.  Principal roles have included works by Balanchine, Clara in James Canfield’s The Nutcracker, Tinkerbell in Jorden Morris' Peter Pan, Beauty in Lew Christensen’s Beauty and the Beast, and the title role in the world premiere of James Canfield and Tara Foy's Cinderella. She has enjoyed dancing works by Adam Hougland, Gerald Arpino and Paul Taylor. Emma has performed in collaboration with Cirque du Soleil in A Choreographer’s Showcase at the Mystère Theater and with the unique performance group #instaballet in which audience members help choreograph a ballet in real time with the dancers.

Daniel Ojeda (First Season) Growing up in Queens, New York, Daniel trained in musical theater with Teresa and Mark Aubel and in classical ballet with private coach Barbara Walczak. He attended the School of American Ballet for 4 years and was a professional division student with the Pacific Northwest Ballet School for 2 years, both on scholarship. While at PNB, he danced in various works with the company including Robbins’ Glass Pieces, Balanchine’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream, and PNB’s world premiere staging of Giselle.

He has spent the past ten years dancing for Ballet Idaho, where he has been featured in many roles including Puck in A Midsummer Night’s Dream, the Sarabande Solo Boy in Balanchine’s Agon, and the principal male in Balanchine’s Valse Fantasie. Daniel has also danced in the works of Twyla Tharp, Alejandro Cerrudo, Penny Saunders, Lauren Edson, Danielle Rowe, Edwaard Liang, Robyn Mineko Williams, and Craig Davidson. He has also choreographed 10 original works for Ballet Idaho’s NewDance series and consistently collaborates with local artists for these productions. Additionally, he has premiered 4 works at the Morrison Center with Ballet Idaho. He is also the Performance Art Lead for Treefort Music Fest.


Anderson Souza (First Season), was born in Santo Angelo, Brazil. Anderson received his training at the Conservatório Brasileiro de Dança under Jorge Teixeira. After graduating, he joined the Cia Brasileira de Ballet in Rio de Janeiro, dancing principal and soloist roles and competing in national and international competitions, including the Beijing International Ballet Competition. Souza traveled with the Company to perform in Colombia, China, Israel and France. In 2013, he joined Gelsey Kirkland Ballet. Under the unique guidance of Kirkland, Anderson matured his artistry and received praise from national critics, including those at The New York Times. Anderson just finished his fourth season dancing with the Atlanta Ballet. He has enjoyed dancing roles in The Nutcracker (by Yuri Possokhov) La Sylphide as Gurn (staged by Johan Kobborg), Sum Stravinsky (by Kiyon Ross), Sandpaper Ballet (by Mark Morris), Tuplet (by Alexander Ekman) and the world premiere of Catch (by Liam Scarlett).
