Do you know someone who made a difference during Western North Carolina’s recovery from Hurricane Helene? Whether they offered a helping hand, showed bravery, or inspired unity, we want to celebrate their story!

What Happens Next?

Every nominated hero will have their story shared on our website.

Their stories will be incorporated into the Rising Phoenix sculpture, a stunning piece made from reclaimed water bottles, displayed in our lobby during Appalachian Phoenix. Nominations are open until July 1, 2025, but stories submitted sooner will have a better chance of influencing the production.

A select group of heroes will receive complimentary tickets for themselves and a guest to attend one of our Asheville performances and be honored during the show! Heroes must be from the Western North Carolina region, as this initiative highlights the resilience and unity of community.

While the heroes won’t be present at the Winston-Salem shows, their inspiring stories will shine through in this powerful performance.
